Big discussion theme: weight loss

Weight loss if a very delicate subject, with a large number of people, not only in the USA but all around the world giving in to day to day work and personal life pressures, it gets harder for us to watch what we eat. Many people find it easy to lose a few pounds whenever they feel overweight, but for those of us who tip the scale a bit more, it seems very hard and almost impossible. You may have seen some commercials about weight loss through pills and other dietary supplements and wondered whether it actually worked, and the truth is it might. But what you should really be asking yourself is, do i WANT to lose 30 pounds in 30 days? The answer is no. By taking these pills and dietary supplements you will mostly lose water weight and lean muscle, NOT fat.
What you should also know is that by burning muscle, your metabolism will actually decrease, making it harder to burn fat, thus making it easier to gain fat. There is a balance that you have to achieve in order to burn off the fat safely. You should not lose more than 2 pounds per week, if you do, your body will enter a "lockdown" mode, which will lower your metabolism and make it harder to lose weight. What you need to do is reduce your calorie intake by 500 calories. By doing this, you can lose about 1 pound per week. The other 1 pound will come from exercise, I find that weightlifting is one of the best ways to keep the fat off, not only does it burn calories as you do it, but it builds more muscle, which in the long run will help you increase your metabolism, so you will burn more fat and not just lose the weight but keep it off as well.
One of the things you need to understand is that you won't burn all your fat in 1 month, there is a lot of effort to be put in the process. No ever said this would be easy, but if you cut your calorie intake by 500 and also start working out just 3 days a week, you will be losing 2 lbs week and you will shortly look how you always wanted, and best of all, you will keep that weight off. Just hang in there and be strong.

It's a good idea...if you eat out a lot...it;s hard to remember to manage the calorie intake per day.
